I returned my old 1930 kitchen wall fan. He uses a chain drive, but because of the location of the apartments in the wall, the action on the pull chain switch (which allows the chain) must switch to the side to act, rather than pushed down. This does not work, because parts of the chain depends on the edge of the switch. Is there a switch to use an elbow to 90 degrees I, or replace one form of knot?
